We are hiring for a BC Registered Early Childhood Educators to join our team. This is a full-time permanent positions working Monday - Friday. Full-time in our 3-5 program. Early childhood educators plan, organize and implement programs for children between the ages of infancy and 5 years. Two years of experience working in a large daycare centre an asset. Working as a team, Early childhood educators and assistants lead children in activities to stimulate and develop their intellectual, physical and emotional growth and ensure their security and well-being. The main duties include:
- developing and implementing the child-care program
- leading activities, both individual and as group activities guiding and assisting children in their development planning and maintaining an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of the children
- establishing and maintaining a collaborative relationship with co-workers and parents
Responsibilities include:
- Assess the children’s development in order to prepare a learning plan tailored to his needs.
- Assist co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties
- Supervise trainees or volunteers
- Synthesize the overall situation of the children and communicate the information to the parents
- Encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
- Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts
-Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
-Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
-Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
-Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
-Discuss progress and problems of children at sta" meetings
-Knowledge of licensing regulations
-Establish guidelines for behaviour
-Attend meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
-Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
-Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
-Supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
-Administer first-aid and other assistance
-Administer first aid in emergency situations
