Early Childhood Educator IT/SNFull-Time

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities and learning experiences.

• Provide responsive, caring, and positive interactions with children.

• Supervise children at all times and ensure their health, safety, and well-being.

• Follow appropriate staff-to-child ratios and supervision requirements.

• Use positive guidance strategies and support children in developing appropriate social and emotional skills.

• Observe children and document their development, interests, needs, and progress.

• Prepare and maintain an engaging, organized, clean, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.

• Support children with daily routines, including meals, toileting, diapering, dressing, rest time, and outdoor activities.

• Maintain appropriate hygiene, sanitation, and infection-control practices.

• Conduct regular safety checks of classrooms, playgrounds, toys, and equipment.

• Communicate professionally and respectfully with parents/guardians regarding their child's day, development, and well-being.

• Complete attendance records, incident reports, observations, and other required documentation.

• Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff.

• Work collaboratively with other educators and management.

• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training.

• Follow the daycare's policies, procedures, guidance practices, and emergency procedures.

• Follow applicable BC childcare licensing requirements.

• Report concerns regarding children's health, safety, development, or possible abuse or neglect according to centre policies and legal requirements.

• Assist with classroom cleaning, sanitizing, organization, and preparation.

• Participate in indoor and outdoor activities and field trips.

• Perform other childcare-related duties reasonably assigned by the supervisor or daycare management.
