Job Location: 38 Industrial Park Drive, Amherst, NS B4H 4R5
Employment terms and conditions:
• Permanent
• Full-time (40 hours/week)
• 10-hour shifts, 4 shifts per week, with a rotating day off
• Shifts start at 4:00 p.m., Sunday through Thursday
• Overtime and Statutory Holiday work may be required

Duties:
• Lift and load food service products onto pallets (3 lbs to 60 lbs, up to 80 lbs), and prepare pallets for shipping to a customer location
• Operate power equipment safely (e.g., single pallet power jacks, forklifts)
• Accurately scan and select products for customer orders (involving number and description comparison, using a computerized inventory system)
• Communicate with all Warehouse management with respect to Material Handler operations
• Adhere to best practices and standards
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety rules and regulations and Food Safety programs
• Adhere to the GFS Cornerstone Values and company policies and procedures
• May perform other related duties as needed

Work Site Environment:
• Warehouse
• Work in all warehouse temperature zones:
o Grocery area is warm
o Cooler is approximately 1 or 2 degrees Celsius
o Freezer is approximately -20 degrees Celsius
• Moderate level of noise
• Exposure to and handling of all types of food products including seafood, meats, dairy, produce, spices, beverages and equipment
• Personal Protective Equipment required and provided by company (thermal freezer suit, gloves)
• Steel-toed boots required

Wage Notes
Salary: • Starting wage: $21.90/hour • Salary increases per company policy, after 6-month ($22.29 /hour) and 12-month ($24.23/hour) employment milestones, and annual reviews • Afternoon/night-shift premium of $1.00/hour • Performance incentives • Profit-Sharing (after 3 months of employment) • Boot allowance • Paid training
