Job Duties

  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods
  • Plan travel routes using GPS and road maps considering weight restrictions
  • Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Load and unload cargo using forklifts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks
  • Complete all required shipping documents, bills of lading, and logbooks
  • Follow all federal and provincial transportation regulations
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report mechanical issues promptly
  • Communicate with dispatch regarding delivery schedules and delays
  • Secure cargo using straps, chains, and tarps to prevent shifting
  • Adhere to Hours of Service regulations and maintain accurate logs

Requirements

Languages: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

Work Conditions

  • Long hours on the road
  • Sitting for extended periods while driving
  • Lifting heavy cargo during loading and unloading

Requirements

  • Valid Class 1 or Class 3 driver's licence
  • Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience
