Job Description:

Zito’s Marketplace is seeking a skilled and reliable Butcher to join our team in Toronto. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and processing a variety of meat products while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and product quality.

Responsibilities
• Cut, trim, debone and prepare standard cuts of meat including beef, pork, and poultry
• Clean meats to prepare for processing or cutting
• Cut carcasses, sides and quarters
• Prepare special cuts of meat ordered by customers
• Make special sausages
• Grind meats and prepare specialty cuts or sausages
• Weigh, package and label meat products for retail sale
• Price meat products
• Prepare and Maintain product displays and ensure freshness and quality
• Ensure proper storage and rotation of meat products
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment
• Follow food safety and sanitation regulations
• Provide customer service and assist customers with meat selection
• May sell meats to customers

Skills Requirements:
• Language: English
• Education: No education requirement
• Experience: Minimum one year of relevant experience; Previous retail sales experience as a retail salesperson or sales clerk, cashier, telemarketer, door-to-door salesperson or rental agent is an asset
