Ginza Ichiban Cuisine is located at 100–785 Rita Rd., Quesnel, BC V2J 0C2. We are currently looking for a permanent, full time Sushi Chef. If you are interested, please submit your resume by e-mail or mail.
Position: Sushi Chef
Wage: CAD$35.00/hour
Types: Full-time, Permanent (various shifts, including evening, weekends, and holidays)
Working hours: 30-40 hours/week
Benefits: 4% of vacation pay
Job Duties:
· Plan and instruct kitchen staff in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of sushi foods
· Develop and execute seasonal or special sushi menus to attract and retain customers in collaboration with management
· Create special house sauce and new recipes to improve tastes and qualities of the dishes
· Maintain precise portioning, seasoning, and presentation standards
· Prepare all types of sushi including nigiri, sashimi, maki, specialty rolls, chef’s specials, and specialty foods
· Ensure health regulations and food safety policies are followed
· Demonstrate new techniques and equipment
· Supervise and train kitchen staff
· Coordinate with suppliers and management to order and receive fresh, high-quality ingredients
· Arrange repair and purchase of equipment
· Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies
Job Requirements:
· Completion of secondary school;
· Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial food preparation required.
· Cook's trade certification is an asset
· Proficiency in fish filleting, including cleaning, boning, and slicing is an asset
· Skills demonstration may be required.
