Home Support Worker for Disabled Senior

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate Disability Support Worker to provide essential care and support to our home to help our disabled parent. We are hiring for one position for a duration of 2 years with a possibility to be extended.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and companionship for individual during periods of incapacitation, convalescence with senior with disability
• Administer bedside and personal care to senior with disability such as aid in ambulation, bathing, personal hygiene, and dressing and undressing
• Plan and may prepare meals and special diets
• May collect specimens for medical purposes.
• Feed or assist senior with disability
• May perform routine health-related duties such as changing non-sterile dressings, assisting in the administration of medications and collecting specimens based on the doctor’s instruction
• Experience with stroke rehab patients.
• Provide Companionship

Requirements

• Prior experience in caring for senior with disability
• Knowledge of medication administration protocols is a plus
• Ability to handle various caregiving tasks with empathy and professionalism
• Experience with stroke patients
• Willingness to work in private home settings
• Minimum post secondary education – Medical background preferred
• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience
• (optional) Our parent does not speak much English so Mandarin would be an asset but not mandatory

Pay: $22.00 per hour
