Position: Drywall Finisher (Taper)

Work Location: various locations, relocation costs covered by employer
Salary: $37.75 to 38.50 per hour (to be negotiated), for 40-44 hours per week

Education: secondary (high) school graduation certificate (or equivalent experience)
Experience: at least one year

Tasks:
· Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
· Clean and prepare surfaces
· Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
· Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings
· Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife
· Measure, cut, fi t and install drywall sheets
· Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
· Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry
· Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound
· Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
· Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms
· Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair.
