One (1) Oil Blender in Scarborough, ONFull-Time

Oil Perfumery Inc. is looking for One (1) Blender to perform the following duties:

• Operate electronic or computerized control panel from a central control room to monitor and optimize physical and chemical processes for several processing units
• Dilute essential oils to the needed amount to ensure the end product is not overdiluted
• Adjust processing machines and equipment
• Monitor reaction processes and transfers of products in conformance with safety procedures
• Control process start-up, shutdown and troubleshooting
• Start up, shut down, troubleshoot and clean equipment
• Develop operating procedures for normal operation, start-up or shutdown of unit
• Monitor outside process equipment
• Monitor meters, gauges and electronic instrumentation on chemical processing or formulation units, such as mixers and blenders and peristaltic filling machine
• Adjust equipment, valves, pumps and controls and process equipment
• Sample products, perform tests, record data, carry out statistical process control on process operations, and write production logs
• Take samples and perform routine chemical and physical tests of products
• Measure, weigh and load chemical ingredients following formulation cards
• Mix aromatic compounds in fixed proportions to create aromatic fragrances
• Make a small batch before mixing compounds to ensure it meets the required scent
• Identify a compound that is not meeting minimum standards before making a large batch
• Participate in safety audits and programs and provide emergency response when required
• Ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations
• Ensure compliance with safety and IFRA (International Fragrance Association) regulations
• May rotate between different processing units during shift cycles
• May work in a team with shared supervisory responsibilities and participate in training other workers
• May be cross trained in a skilled trade and work in the trade during shift cycles.
• Shut down, isolate and prepare process units or production equipment for maintenance
• Authorize or co-sign maintenance work orders
• Record production data
• Operate machines to pour and seal perfume bottles
• May Pick and package perfumes according to orders

Terms of Employment:
• Salary: $48.08 per hour; 40 hours per week
• Permanent, Full-Time
• Start date: immediately

Job Requirements:
• Language: English
• Education: Completion of secondary school or equivalent experience; A college diploma in process operation, sciences, mathematics, chemistry and physics or a related subject is an asset.
• Experience: Experience in fragrance processing as an assistant, labourer or helper an asset
