Job Location:   

Based at 6040 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB, but required to work in various locations in the Calgary region. 

• The employer provides transportation to sites outside of the city limits. 
  

Wage: $25 per hour (based on experience, salary increases as per company policy)  

Employment terms and conditions: Seasonal Employment, Full time (30-50 hours per week, weather dependent), Overtime, Morning, Day, Weekend  

Vacancies: 15 

Anticipated start date: Spring 2027 (Actual start date is weather-dependent)  

Job requirements:  

Language: Basic English 

Experience: 2 years of related experience 

Area of Specialization: Landscape Construction, Residential Projects 

Worksite environment: Outdoor, Noisy, Dusty 

Work setting: Urban area, Residential, Landscape contractor 

Construction Specialization: Irrigation & Drainage, Fieldstone paths, Retaining walls, Stone garden walls, Rock gardens 

Equipment and machinery experience: Small engine equipment, Sod cutter, Tractor mower, Weed trimmer/edger 

Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots  

Work conditions: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Repetitive tasks, Overtime required 

Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Repetitive tasks, Work under pressure, Handling heavy loads (lifting up to 50 lbs), Manual dexterity, Tight deadlines, Attention to detail, Hand-eye coordination, Bending, Crouching, Kneeling, Fast-paced environment

Duties:  

• Plan and construct landscaped environments which may include trees, shrubberies, lawns, fences, decks, patios, and other landscape structures 

• Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens 

• Plant and move trees  

• Level earth to fine-grade specifications 

• Rake and collect refuse 

• Weed, prune, and trim trees and plants 

• Cart and spread topsoil and other materials 

• Lay sod or seed 

• Operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment 

• Dig ditches and trenches 

• Installation of irrigation and drainage 

• Trim trees to achieve the desired pruning objective such as crown cleaning, thinning, raising, reduction, restoration, espalier pruning, vista pruning 

• Build patios with pavers 

• Build natural and manufactured stone retaining walls
