The Rusty Rake Café, located at Sandhill Nursery, is hiring reliable, hard-working Kitchen Helpers for our 2027 season. This back-of-house role focuses on food preparation, dishwashing, and keeping the kitchen clean and organized. No experience is needed — we provide on-the-job training, and students, young people starting out, and anyone looking for a hands-on seasonal job are encouraged to apply.

Job Details

• Employment type: Seasonal, full-time

• Duration: April 15, 2027 to December 15, 2027 (seasonal contract)

• Work location: On site at the Rusty Rake Café, Sandhill Nursery, 1686 Aspdin Rd, Huntsville. No remote work.

• Benefits: Vacation pay (4%); paid on-the-job training

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation and assembling menu items

• Prepare ingredients and make sure food is properly stored, labelled, and rotated

• Operate dishwashing equipment and clean dishes, utensils, and kitchenware

• Clean and sanitize kitchen work areas, equipment, and storage areas

• Receive and put away deliveries; restock ingredients and supplies

• Remove garbage and recycling

• Follow all food safety and health regulations

• Work with the kitchen team to keep daily operations running smoothly
