Security and safety: Must follow company and worksite health and safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment; the company provides specialized PPE for asbestos work.

Duties:

• Help measure, cut, assemble, and prepare wood and other materials, using hand and power tools safely as directed.

• Help carpenters with framing, walls, roofs, and installing doors, windows, trim, and siding.

• Help with renovation and demolition.

• Mix, pour, and spread concrete and asphalt. Level earth to fine grade specifications.

• Move materials, tools, and equipment to work areas.

• Help build and maintain negative-pressure containment enclosures (lumber framing, poly sheeting, airlocks).

• Erect, inspect, and dismantle decontamination chambers, waste chutes, and barricades.

• Stage abatement supplies and PPE at the clean/dirty boundaries.

• Remove lead-based paint by scraping, stripping, chemical treatment, or wet-sanding, using strict dust controls.

• Bag, seal, double-wrap, and label asbestos and lead waste in approved containers to meet regulations.

• Clean work areas, remove debris, and decontaminate tools, equipment, corridors, and surfaces by washdown, wet-wiping, and HEPA vacuuming. Prepare containments for visual inspection and air clearance testing.

• Set up, operate, and maintain HEPA negative air machines and HEPA vacuums, including filter changes.

• Use, clean, and inspect required PPE, including P100 full-face and half-face respirators and disposable suits.
