Concrete Finishers Wanted

 J. Branco & Sons Concrete Services Ltd. is a small company specializing in the removal and replacement of municipal sidewalks, curbs and gutters. We are based out of 4919 – 64 St. Wetaskiwin, Alberta T9A 3S1 and does work within a 100 km radius. Our construction season is from May through October, then due to weather conditions we are unable to pour concrete outdoors in the winter months.

The company is looking for 8 Concrete Finishers for the 2027 Construction Season. This is full-time seasonal, 40 hours per week with overtime rate eligibility from the middle of May to the end of October.

Education: No minimum education required, but qualified applicants must have 3 years min. experience as a Concrete Finisher.

Experience: Minimum 3 years experience as a Concrete Finisher

Job Summary: Required to perform concrete finishing duties including placing, finishing, protecting and repairing concrete.

Essential Duties: Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement material; Direct placement of concrete into forms or surfaces; Operate power vibrators to compress concrete; Operate a screed (manual screed and power screed) to level freshly placed concrete according to grade and depth specifications; Smooth concrete surfaces using either a hand trowel, long handled “bull float” or powered float; Cut control joints: Apply curing or surface treatments; Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures; Directing concrete mixing trucks; Strip concrete forms.

Wages: $33.00 to $37.25/hr; Possibility of 2 tier signing bonus dependent upon hours of work and returning seasonal employment with company. Group medical benefits (after one year of employment). Assistance with finding affordable housing in Wetaskiwin is available.
