Wage: $39per hour
Hours: 30–40 hours per week

Job Duties

• Prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks, stone and other masonry units.

• Read sketches, drawings and blueprints to determine work requirements.

• Measure, cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks to required specifications using hand and power tools.

• Prepare and mix mortar and other bonding materials.

• Lay bricks, blocks and stone to construct walls, partitions and other structures.

• Install masonry veneer and prefabricated masonry units.

• Build and repair walls, foundations, chimneys and other masonry structures.

• Check completed masonry work for proper alignment, level and quality.

• Repair and restore existing masonry structures.

• Erect and work on scaffolding as required.

• Follow workplace safety procedures and maintain a safe and clean work area.

Employment Requirements

• Secondary school education is required

• Minimum 1–2 years of relevant bricklaying or masonry experience.

• Knowledge of masonry tools, materials and construction techniques.

• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.

• Ability to perform physically demanding work and handle heavy materials.

• Ability to work outdoors and at various construction sites.

• Trade certification in bricklaying is an asset.
