Job Duties

  • Prepare dough for bread, rolls, pastries, and other baked goods
  • Measure and mix ingredients according to established recipes and formulas
  • Operate commercial ovens, mixers, proofers, and other baking equipment
  • Monitor baking temperatures and times to ensure consistent quality
  • Decorate cakes, pastries, and specialty items for display and custom orders
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work area following food safety standards
  • Manage inventory of baking ingredients and supplies and place orders
  • Create and test new recipes for seasonal and promotional items
  • Package and label baked goods for retail sale and wholesale distribution
  • Train and guide junior staff on baking techniques and food safety

Requirements

Languages: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

Work Conditions

  • Early morning start times (4:00 AM - 5:00 AM)
  • Hot environment near ovens
  • Standing for extended periods
  • Handling heavy bags of flour and ingredients

Requirements

  • Previous baking experience in a commercial or retail bakery
