Location: 101-161 Copper Dr., Britannia Beach, BC V8B 1E7, Canada

Wage: $21.00 per hour

Hours: 40 hours per week

Term: Full-time, Permanent, Early morning

Language: English

Vacation: 4% Vacation pay (or 10 days) per year

Responsibilities:

-          Prepare a variety of doughs and batters for breads, pastries, desserts, and specialty items, following internal recipes or customer‑specific instructions.

-          Carry out the full production cycle including shaping, proofing, baking, and finishing to achieve the required texture, flavour, and presentation.

-          Support and mentor team members by teaching proper preparation methods, safe food‑handling practices, and correct use of bakery equipment.

-          Coordinate and complete customized or special bakery orders with accuracy and timeliness.

-          Oversee daily activities of bakery and kitchen staff to maintain efficient operations and consistent output.

-          Check finished products to ensure they meet the business’s standards for freshness, appearance, and overall quality.

-          Inspect work areas and food‑service zones to ensure they meet cleanliness, sanitation, and safety requirements.

-          Operate and maintain bakery tools and machinery, including mixers, ovens, proofers, slicers, and related equipment.

Requirements:

-          Completion of secondary school

-          1 to 2 years of commercial baking experience

Key Assets:

-          Experience preparing a range of baked goods, including breads, rolls, pastries, desserts, donuts, and muffins. 

-          Strong team player with a customer‑focused approach. 

-          Able to work efficiently in a fast‑moving environment, manage heavier items when required, and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
