Position:  Rider (Exercise Rider)

Salary:  $26.50 per hour, for 35 hours/week

Education:  No degree, certificate of diploma

Experience:  2 years to less than 3 years

Personal Suitability:  Judgement, Reliability

Animal Specialization:  Horses

 

Tasks:

·       Ride/exercise racehorses under the direction of a trainer to qualify for races;

·       Attend scheduled practice and training sessions;

·       Assess performance/fitness of racehorses and communicate information effectively to trainer;

·       Monitor animal health;

·       Monitor and document animal behaviour;

·       Handle horses of all ages and temperaments;

·       Adhere to various stop and start points;

·       Maintain equipment required for the training and racing of horses.
